How I started blogging…
Well, I like to read a lot. I talk about books a lot. It just so happened that a friend told me I should start a blog about books and share my thoughts/reviews with the world. This may have just been so they didn’t have to hear me ramble on to them about books. Trying to find me another outlet for my hysteria over books good and bad.
So I did start that blog almos 2 years ago and have absolutely loved it. I get to connect with so many like minded people and share thoughts. I have received so many free books from authors to read and review and am so grateful for them. I even made my way to Booktube and have been working with publishers so it has been a pretty great time.
Advice for new bloggers
- Don’t give up. It might seem hard at first if you have little to no engagement with the content you are creating but push through and keep working hard at it. If you really love the subject material, people will recognize your passion and take interest in what you have to say.
- Interact with other bloggers. This helped me get my start in the beginning because I talked with a bunch of different bloggers and learned from them. Some of them may even become your close online friends!
I’m very curious to see if everyone participates and look forward to reading your posts. If you have already been tagged in this and have a post about it, no worries about making another one.

Wow guys. This is so awesome. I know it is only a small achievement but still very exciting to know that the reviews we write are being read and that people are wanting more. We are so appreciative of everyone in the book blogging community and want to continue to bring more reviews and content to it.
Our next goal is to get to 400 followers! Let’s see if we can make that happen!
A shoutout to some bloggers that have helped us along the way or just were very supportive:
These are just some of them. Know that we value all of you and are super happy that you have been so supportive.
Well, that was a short and sweet post but we just wanted to share our gratitude. What are your goals? Do you celebrate little achievements or just the big ones? Comment below and let us know. We want to share your successes just as much as we do with our own.
So as many of you know, I am now teaching at Canadore College as a professor for the Appreciation of Media Design course. I never thought way back when I was in the Graphic Design program that I would ever be up at the front doing the actual teaching. But alas, here I am.
It has been taking a lot of my time as I have to lesson plan for each week and my books are feeling lonely (at least I think they are). On top of this, I still have my full-time job as a web developer and decided to do indoor volleyball for the autumn and winter season.
I am still doing my best to read as much as possible so have faith book bloggers, I will be adding more reviews soon. I am currently reading Fat Girl on a Plane by Kelly deVos and am about half way through.
How do you get through week by week with so much to do? Comment below what helps you stay organized? Maybe I could pick up some tips or stargies from you!
Talk soon bookworms!
Just a quick little update! I am moving to a new apartment this week so I will be super busy with that and have less time to read!
I know it sucks but I will be back at reading a bunch once I have settled in to my new place. I am working on finishing the book I am currently reading when I get time at night before bed because that is the only free time I seem to have. Also, its my birthday on Monday so that will be a lot of fun!
I hope to get more great book relted content to you soon. I have a new part time reviewer helping out and you should see some of his reviews in the upcoming weeks.
I can’t wait to share pictures of my new place. But that is all for now.
Keep on keeping on my lovely book nerds.
Hey there bookworms! The giveaway for All is Assuredly Well has drawn to a close and we have a winner. It was a fun contest and this one had the most entries to date! I also came by a bunch of books from some friends that were going to bring them to the used bookstore. So now I will be hosting more giveaways with goodies and free books 🙂
Without further ado, your winner of the giveaway is…
Congratulations on winning the giveaway and I will be in touch to get information for where to ship the prize to. The next giveaway will be hosted in a week and I will give you a hint that the prize involves heros that one might call… super 🙂
In other news, I have a review coming for you guys tomorrow. So keep posted!
Alright spoiler, this post is not about books! But I have been getting ready to go home for the holidays and I have been listening to a lot of music. I like all types of music but I have a sweet spot for songs that can just make you feel strong emotions. I have an entire list I could suggest but I want to know what songs make you guys feel something. Music has such a way of getting through to you. Certain songs can hold a memories or just change your day with a beginning note. It’s like how certain smells can trigger memories. So can music.
I will hear a song an be instantly somewhere else. Abbey Road by the Beatles takes me back to the first time ever hearing it on vinyl in my cousin’s basement. Feeling the record as it spun and hearing the crackle of the needle as the track went round and round.
I heard this line in a movie trailer but the music behind it gave it so much more meaning. We are born to change the world, not just add to the noise. There is so much noise but we are meant to make our own melodies. Any way we can. I just really like that line and it stuck out to me.
Here is a link to my playlist on Spotify of songs that make me feel if you are interested:
Not really sure where I was going with this post 😛 but anyway I am done with my random ramble. Let me know in the comments what songs make you feel something. Talk to you later tune worms? sound worms? Nah back to bookworms!
Busy Busy Busy. I want to read and have no time with big deadlines at work and dog sitting this week. But to be fair, Marley is adorable!
Hopefully I can get to reading more this week but in the meantime, if anyone wants me to do a guest blog post for them and share one of their posts on my blog (as long as its about books) then send me a message and I will give you some recognition 🙂
I don’t even have that many followers lol just sharing the love and being part of the blogging community. Oh also, check out these socks by my co-worker. She is in a very festive spirit this month.
Ok hopefully talk soon about the book I am reading. Peace out bookworms.
So for the delay in posts. I had to postpone the book challenge posts for 2 days because I was travelling and visiting with family. I will be back at writing up some posts up today. There will be lots to share, the giveaway will be ending tomorrow and I will announce a winner on November 1st (I’m going to wait till after Halloween so everyone gets an extra day to submit an entry). I have also been nominated for the 2017 Liebster Award by Ari Augustine from Ravenous for Reads so I will be writing a post on that and nominating some fellow book bloggers I enjoy chatting with for the award!
Stay tuned bookworms, more to come very soon 🙂
