Happy Valentine’s day to everyone out there! Spend today with your loved one and do something special even if that is only watching a show together or just spending some quality time hanging out.
Or if you are single, don’t sweat it. Today is your day to celebrate you and your awesomeness!
This is a short and sweet post but just wanted to let everyone know to enjoy their day regardless of being in a relationship or not. We don’t celebrate ourselves enough and we all deserve it. Stay tuned for a review of the second book in a trilogy I am reading. It will be posted tomorrow :).
It has been a flurry over here at Breakeven Books. We are getting prepared for the holiday season and are busy buying Christmas gifts, baking goodies and finishing up all the projects of the year.
And the best part about the holidays?! More time to read 🙂 I already have a list of 3 books I want to try and finish over the holidays. But I will still be saving time to do the regular Christmas traditions with the family such as driving around looking at Christmas lights with a thermos of cider, listening to Christmas music, and watching Christmas movies (especially It’s A Wonderful Life on December 24th).
I also get a week off of my full-time job so that is nice. Nothing like a little R&R over the holidays.
Does your family have any holiday traditions that you partake in each year? What are they? Tell me in the comments below 🙂
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays bookworms.
It’s the holiday season in Canada where we eat our fill of turkey and drink our fill of wine, spirits or in my case … beer :). I love this weekend in October because I get to see my family and enjoy some nice rest and relaxation in the home that I grew up in. Usually, we go for a small hike or walk through the woods but the weather has been pretty drizzly so far this weekend so it has been spent inside with board games and the smells of delicious food filling the house.
I have been marking papers and reading a little bit but mainly catching up with old friends. I hope everyone out there is having a good Thanksgiving and are thankful for the important people they have in their lives. This applies to you too my American friends but in November 😛
I am thankful for my family and the friends that are pretty much family to me. For the people that just bring a smile to my face. And for all those books out there still waiting to be read 🙂
So with that, Happy Thanksgiving! Tell me about your Thanksgiving traditions if you have any in the comments below.
Merry Christmas Bookworms!! Happy Holidays or whatever you prefer 🙂 I have been catching up on all my favourite Christmas traditions like watching White Christmas and It’s a Wonderful Life, reading A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, and even going to a Christmas Eve service with Mom and Dad. Our tree looks really nice (Mom decorated it, I am at my parents for the holidays).
Tomorrow morning I will be on my way to Fort Frances to bring some Christmas Cheer to my good friend Jordan who had to work on Christmas. He is a paramedic so he has to make sure everyone else is being safe over the holidays and give up his own to do so. My flight is at 7am tomorrow but I have a new book to keep me entertained for the journey there and back on New Years Eve.
Also Max says Merry Christmas too. As you can see we both just got out of bed 😛
Well have a great Christmas Day everyone! Eat lots of turkey and drink lots of spirits and keep the good cheer a flowing.
Talk to you soon bookworms.
Busy Busy Busy. I want to read and have no time with big deadlines at work and dog sitting this week. But to be fair, Marley is adorable!
Hopefully I can get to reading more this week but in the meantime, if anyone wants me to do a guest blog post for them and share one of their posts on my blog (as long as its about books) then send me a message and I will give you some recognition 🙂
I don’t even have that many followers lol just sharing the love and being part of the blogging community. Oh also, check out these socks by my co-worker. She is in a very festive spirit this month.
Ok hopefully talk soon about the book I am reading. Peace out bookworms.
Well it is nearing the end of November and the Christmas season is upon us. I have so much Christmas shopping to do and everytime I am at the mall, all I want to do is go to Coles. When I am asked what I want for Christmas, my answer is always the same: Books (or gift cards to get more books)!
This year I decided to join Kathy @ Books and Munches in her Christmas card exchange. Last night I packaged up the Christmas Card and will be sending it to one lucky book blogger who will find a nice little gift inside (plus I added a Spiderman sticker because why not :P).
The cards I got were pretty cool and very Canadian.
You can find lots of other Christmas cards options on Amazon:
I am very excited for this book blogger to receive this card and hopefully send me a message. It’s really cool to know that through this blog, I can connect with other bloggers from all over the world and share cool content with them. If you ever get a chance to do a card exchange like this, I strongly suggest trying it out. It’s perfect for an introvert because you get to communicate with someone else through a gift without going anywhere.
Stay tuned guys and gals because I will be announcing the November Giveaway winner in 2 days and I have some goodies I received in the mail that I will be showing you! Talk to you soon bookworms.
