This will be a short and sweet post because there isn’t really much you can say about the title of a book. My favourite book title would have to be It’s kind of a funny story by Ned Vizzinni.
Synopsis: Ambitious New York City teenager Craig Gilner is determined to succeed at life – which means getting into the right high school to get into the right job. But once Craig aces his way into Manhattan’s Executive Pre-Professional High School, the pressure becomes unbearable. He stops eating and sleeping until, one night, he nearly kills himself.
Craig’s suicidal episode gets him checked into a mental hospital, where his new neighbors include a transsexual sex addict, a girl who has scarred her own face with scissors, and the self-elected President Armelio. There, Craig is finally able to confront the sources of his anxiety.
I like this title because it is telling you that this book will make you laugh but it isn’t giving away anything about the storyline. This is a very good book and another of my top mental health picks.
What is your favourite book title? Let me know in the comments!
I can see why you went with that one 🙂
The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. Just the title catches your attention. Who is Harold Fry? Why did he go on a pilgrimage? Why was it unlikely?
The other one I like is The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared.
Those are awesome titles for books! Very enticing 🙂
When “It” by S. King first came out, I had fun with it (“It”). The result ended up like Abbot & Costello’s “Who’s on first” whenever I asked someone if they read it. (“It”)
Haha yes! Abbot & Costello are amazing. I have the boxed set of like 24 of their movies and the original tv show specials on dvd.
